Hi everyone! Welcome to Witchcraft & Metaphysics! If you’re new here, please check out this About Page to find out more. Every month I release a themed, downloadable pack filled with activities, rituals, prompts and more, all to help us enhance our relationships with Magic. The theme for this month’s pack is Magic and COMMUNITY. The download is at the end of the post. Enjoy! My work depends entirely on subscribers, so please sign up. If you can afford to upgrade to paid, please do…this is my sole source of income and I want to keep creating for you. My heartfelt gratitude goes out to those already subscribed. Let’s keep building this amazing community of magic together!
This month’s pack has been such a growth experience for me. By and large, I do my spiritual practices and rituals alone (with an occasional full-moon meetup with friends). In the past, I have tried being part of spiritual communities, but my hermit-like ways always end up pulling me back to solitary practice. So I had to really open up my heart and reconnect with everything that makes doing magic in community so worthwhile.
I also want to take a minute to say that, in reality, relating with Magic is always done in community. Even if it seems like we’re practicing alone, we are communing with all of our allies and with Magic itself. If you’re like me and aren’t automatically drawn to the idea of practicing with other living humans, the rituals in this month’s pack will still work great for you. They will help deepen your connection with your environment and with your own body, which are all parts of your community too. And if you’re willing to try the rituals with other people, you might come to see how amazing this can be (just as I did while writing this pack!)
Why is Magic in community important?
Magic in community is not just about practicing rituals together; it’s about creating a space where each member feels seen, heard, and appreciated. It’s about building a foundation of trust and respect, where everyone can freely express their magical selves. These communities can offer us an inclusive, supportive sense of belonging and safety.
By sharing magical practices, we can cultivate a sense of wonder and connection that transcends the mundane. Imagine gathering with others to perform a seasonal ritual, where the combined energy of the group amplifies the magic of the moment. Or think about the simple, everyday acts of magic—like blessing a meal, setting intentions together, or even creating a sacred space for conversation. These practices weave magic into the very fabric of our communities, making it an integral part of our shared experience.
Working in community not only strengthens the bonds between us but also deepens our individual relationships with magic. When we come together to practice, we learn from one another, share our insights, and support each other's growth. This collective wisdom and support system helps us to expand our understanding and refine our practices.
For me, personally, I have strengths in communicating with spirits and understanding deeper patterns. But I will always turn to others when it comes to working with plants and astrology, for example. This diversity is a powerful tool. Whether you’re a seasoned practitioner or just beginning your magical journey, there’s always something new to learn from others. By participating in a community, we open ourselves to new ideas and approaches, broadening our magical horizons.
As we continue our year-long exploration of Magic, let’s embrace the power of community. Whether you are part of a large group, a small gathering, or a solo practitioner with a network of spiritual allies, remember that you are not alone. Our connections with others and with the mystical realms create a web of support and inspiration that enriches our magical journeys.
Because communities of every shape and size are made up of the same building blocks, I decided to structure this month’s pack around the four elements: fire, air, water, and earth. Each week we will focus on rituals and community exercises/activities based on relating with one of the elements. Again, the rituals are written for group participation, but can be easily adapted and are entirely appropriate for solo practitioners.
Week one—focuses on fire with rituals to honor the sun, our nervous systems, and ways to help our communities embrace transformation.
Week two—focuses on air with rituals to honor the winds, our respiratory systems, and ways to help our communities with communication.
Week three—focuses on water with rituals to honor the rain, our circulatory systems, and ways to help our community members express their emotions.
Week four—focuses on earth with rituals to honor the land, our musculoskeletal systems, and ways to help our communities foster a sense of safety.
As always, if you have any questions or comments, please leave them below, send me a DM, or reply to this email. I can’t wait to explore Magic and Community with you! 🤗✨

I love this post, Jenna! I agree, community is so important, especially in a world where destructive forces are driving us apart. And I love especially that you say "in reality, relating with Magic is always done in community. Even if it seems like we’re practicing alone, we are communing with all of our allies and with Magic itself."
Thank you for nurturing wholeness, unity and community with your work and generous offerings 💗🙏
I did the first ritual with a few friends who I’m kindling a magical relationship with. It was one’s first time doing any sort of ritual, and she really loved it. The other is a solo practitioner, and it was really special for her to be with others.
I’m really loving the community aspect, but we’ve figured out that we’re only able to meet once a week. I’d love your advice for which rituals we should do when we’re together. Should we just do the main 4 honoring the elements over the 4 weeks of July, or should we stretch it out to 8 weeks?
I’m leaning toward the main 4 and doing the others on my own, but I’d love any insight you can offer! Thanks!
