Jenna,

I just love this turn: “Let’s see what happens if we ask to feel differently about it.” What a deliciously different plea. Thank you. 🙏

Thank YOU, Renee! ♥️ I've been loving the practice and have had some big shifts come from it. That being said, I'm continually surprised by my tendency to hope and wait for different circumstances, though. That seems to be some kind of engrained mode of thinking in me. It's so good to hear from you! I'm so excited to see a letter from you in my substack inbox. Can't wait to read it! I hope you are doing well and your soul is filled with goodness!

Hi Jenna,

I've posted a couple of "Notes" about what I'm loving in this post of yours, and I love this insight: "This can give them a sense of power and a feeling that they are in-control without actually having to take responsibility..." However, "...or make any real changes in themselves." doesn't resonate with me, perhaps because I don't believe any human being actually changes.

The truth of my own experience is that we become *aware of* parts of ourselves we may have been dis-owning, and we become aware of certain patterns. So then we get to make an aware and conscious choice about which parts of ourselves we may want to use and when. But those parts don't actually change. They're still there. For me, it's more like how Thich Nhat Hanh says that we get to choose which seeds we want to cultivate.

Curious to hear your thoughts too.✨🌟💖🙏🕊️

I LOVE this, Camilla! ♥️💖 Rhiannon Lynn and I were recently discussing (in notes, I think, I'll see if I can find the link) the idea of wholeness versus healing and she said basically what you are saying here, that we are already all of it and we can restore (LOVE that word!) parts that were disowned or otherwise fragmented. It reminded me so much of a vision I had once where I saw that each of us is infinite and eternal and we utilize doors to limit it in order to interface with each experience. I think when I wrote about making real changes within oneself, it was more about choosing which doors to open and which to close. But I also may have been writing from a narrower perspective. I've learned so much from amazing folks like you and Rhiannon this week! Thank you! 🤗

This feels so relevant to the work I’ve been doing this week around fears of abundance! Thank you for this collective reading.

This line really grabbed me: “As you go about your week, pause every now and again and ask: How will I make this moment gold?”

I’m going to work with that. Thank you. 💜🙏🏼

Thanks, Carrie! 🤗♥️ I'd love to know if anything comes up for you with it. I've been thinking about the actual process of making a moment gold. Sometimes it feels like a change in perception would make it gold and sometimes it feels like adding some actual flairs of physical beauty would make it gold. Like glitter bombing! 😁

My first thought when I read it was “how can I transform this difficult situation (eg, the lead) into something valuable and significant (the gold)?” For me, that means looking for the higher message in every challenge that arises, recognizing that even when things don’t feel great, I have the opportunity to shine more light into them. This usually means sending love to what I initially may feel that I hate.

So the “how can I make this experience gold” felt like the perfect question to remind myself of my purpose: to make whatever happens into a golden moment by bringing more light and more love to it.

(I do not always succeed in doing this, mind you, which is why the question felt so helpful as a means of getting me out of my head and into higher awareness!)

So thank you -- feels like a gift! 🎁 💜

Yes, this exactly! I don't always succeed in it either. In fact, it's funny, I wrote the post but then I need all of you guys to reflect the wisdom back to me. I've been feeling a little unwell the last few days and it wasn't until I just read your words that I realized I could make gold of even my experience of feeling physically unwell. I have a 'tool' (for lack of a better word) that I utilize for both infusions of Divinity as well as offerings, that I call Divine Nectar. Guess what color I see it as... Gold. Thank you, Carrie, for being your wonderful self and helping me suss out how to make this moment gold! 💖

Yes!! 💜🙌 💞 (not to you being sick, but from the collective gleanings from your writing). I have a similar experience when I write — often I am channeling something (usually reluctantly) so I’ll be super resistant leading up to the post, then initially as I’m writing it, then as I write it, the first level of healing happens: I get softer, more attuned to my soul-self, and thus receptive to the learning. Then when it publishes and others share their takeaways from it, there’s a whole new level of awareness that unfolds. So it really is a transformative writing experience!

Jenna, this is the first of your essays on tarot I've had the pleasure of reading. Every time I've attempted to learn about tarot I am quickly overwhelmed and retreat to my simpler oracle decks. I bought three botanical-theme oracle decks I occasionally consult but tarot has always eluded me. I look forward to reading more of your posts & finally learning more about the archetypes. ♡

Hi Jessica! Thank you so much for reading my post and reaching out! 🤗💖 I hear you about the tarot. I was always simultaneously drawn to it and overwhelmed by it. For me, it really feels like trying to learn a language that has a different set of grammar rules for each person who speaks it. On the one hand, I want to learn the way others (especially established traditions) interpret this language, and, on the other hand, developing my own understanding of it always felt paramount. It's an ever-unfolding dance, I suppose. There was something about developing this framework of pairing the tarot with other archetypes that really helped clarify it for me for some reason. Regardless of any of that, oracle decks are amazing! I find that spirit speaks through them so clearly (and beautifully)! Do you have a favorite deck?

Your language/grammar analogy is perfect!

Hmmm...my favorite?🤔 I have three oracle decks: Oracle of The Roses and Magickal Herb Oracle(both created by Cheralyn Darcey) and Hedgewitch Botanical Oracle (created by Siolo Thompson). I would have to say the one I consult most often is the last one...the simple drawings and the straightforward guidebook are most appealing to me, so I think I'd say it's my favorite!

Oooooo! I looked up all three of them and they are gorgeous! I'm gonna get the Hedgewitch Botanical Oracle. I've been so drawn to learning more about plants lately. Thank you for the recommendation!
