Wowowow, I love this so much, Jenna! The virgin brings up so much for me as I grew up in Christianity and the topic of virginity was talked about often. (I even wore a purity ring until I was in my 20’s!) I’ve been learning about the real meaning behind virgin, as you stated, from learning about Mary Magdalene and mother Mary in the sacred feminine and it’s been so healing for me.
These cards give me so much to think about, and thank you for sharing your insights on them. Beautiful!
I love that you brought up Mary Magdalene and mother Mary! I've been listening to a book called The Way of the Rose by Clark Strand and Perdita Finn after seeing it recommended here on Substack a number of times. It is filled with info on the Virgin Mary that I had never heard before. I'm really loving it! Do you have any sources on Mary Magdalene that you recommend?
Oh beautiful!! I need to add that to my reading list. Currently working through Mary Magdalene Revealed by Meggan Watterson and Magdalene Mysteries by Seren and Azra Bertrand. The revealed book is more personal to Meggan, but Magdalene Mysteries is a total deep dive which I love!
“The Virgin calls us to put down our armor and return to innocence. Inherent in this is a willingness to be new and exposed. This kind of vulnerability can be super scary.”
This was so helpful to read! “Returning to innocence” is what my light team has been trying to teach me, and is usually accompanied by the counsel to approach everything with “beginner’s mind” — staying wide open, allowing unknowing, staying soft. Juxtaposing that with the Strength card — “vulnerability and openness as strength”. This feels like letting the heart lead.
This is so great, Carrie! ♥️ I have a post coming out tomorrow all about my struggles with returning to beginner's mind and putting down my armor. It can feel so scary, right?
Oh man! I like that a lot!🤗♥️ I wonder if they are the same. That would make a lot of sense. Now I'm off to explore the meanings of unity consciousness! 💖💖💖
Loved this post! I want to comment here about the word 'virgin'! So here is synchronicity again. When I did my post on the feminine archetypes and wrote about the maiden I purposely did not use the word 'virgin'. I thought about 'virginal' but decided to put that aside too. There were other aspects to focus on, and those words are too misunderstood. So THANK YOU for bringing this into the field. Clarifying what the true meaning of 'virgin' is. So many concepts, ideas, archetypes that we place on each other and then hold the person to behave and act in accordance to them. Such BS!
Thank you, Julie! I love the synchronicity! You bring up such a great point about placing these patterns on each other and locking each other into certain ways of being. I've been exploring thoughts about identity this month and I think this goes right along with that. How can we allow ourselves and others to be more fluid? (here's my post on that in case you missed it: https://witchcraftandmetaphysics.substack.com/p/magic-and-identity-septembers-big
Your post on the maiden has really helped me too! It helped me see how we continually move through these cycles and, in fact, are all of the archetypes at once. Thank you for that! 🤗
Oh gosh does this ever hit home. I cycle through being the confident leo I was born... to the cowardly lion thrown about by (if mostly my own imagined) tornadoes. So much to think about here Jenna, thank you! xx
That's the perfect image, Bron! The cycle between Leo and the cowardly lion. Thank you for that! I can cycle between the two several times an hour depending on the day. Oh! I just had a thought! I wonder if we could get to a place of being able to hold both states at once?
I don’t let myself break free due to fear of being fully seen as myself. This realization is really coming up for me right now so I appreciate this piece as it has helped me integrate what’s happening💕
Thank you, Donna! 🤗 I'm having quite a hard time with all of this myself. As you know, I'm invoking comfort this year, so I'm finding this dance between feeling safe and feeling vulnerable to be particularly challenging. Strange as it might sound, I think, for me, there are times when being vulnerable IS the comfortable choice; when keeping my defenses up no longer serves my foundation of strength. It seems to be a moment-by-moment kind of thing, though. I'd love to hear your insights and wisdom as you continue to integrate!
Admittedly the outline re the shadow virgin raised the proverbial eyebrow, as truth often does.... thanks for this, and for the reminder that I need to loosen up.
Thank you so much for reading! I know exactly what you mean! I have really been noticing how much I tend to put up walls and I think that sometimes that's a necessary thing. It doesn't seem wise to never have our guards up. I'm really wrestling with all of this this week. It's a tough one!

Oh I also have started recently The Mystery Tradition of Immaculate Conception by Marguerite Mary Rigoglioso and am loving it so far!
All three sound amazing! Thank you! I know what I'm shopping for this afternoon. 🤗♥️

Thank you for this beautiful teaching! 💜🙏

SYNCHRONICITY STRIKES AGAIN!! ...or is that unity consciousness? Perhaps they are one and the same.

Absolutely, I think I can have a paw in each too! 😅

Wow thank you for this as it is a great way to look at the Strength card as there is lots to ponder here.
Thank you so much for reading, Miriam! I'd love to know if you get any insights as the week moves on. Strength has so many layers, doesn't it?
Yes it sure does and I’ll share it with you!
