First of all loving the new name Jenna, it feels so you and I am loving the logo too! I will be the first to admit that I like to keep poking at myself with swords, just to prove I still have those faults. I am trying to be much more gentle with myself, but there is some deep conditioning that gets in the way. It's definitely brought this into my awareness this week. Thank you for you guiding light as always.

Jenna, congratulations on your new substack name! I like it! Perfect for where you moving right now.

Wow the Destroyer! This is a powerful archetype. My first thought is of Kali. She is a mighty and amazing force that can totally devastate and demolish yet she also creates and weaves through it all. She stands up and for Truth! Right now in our current time, I hear Her sacred "NO". The Divine Feminine is rising. And she is on fire, the 8ofW. With the two combined there is incredible movement. Things are firing up right now...curious to see what happens!!!

Ooooh that feels so exciting! The sacred NO and Kali on fire. Something big is about to change. I had an intense relationship with Kali for many years and came to know her as the one who cuts through any and all bullshit. She's not cruel but has no patience for our unwillingness to see our own shadows (individually or collectively). I so love what you've taught me about sacred rage and sacred NO. I embrace both fully!

I see Destroyer and I think of Kali, She who clears away everything to make room for the new things.

It also goes along with my practice for the First Harvest: what do I need to Release now in order to Receive later, when we feast on the Bounty of the Mother at Equinox. The Eight of Wands is the incoming Bounty for this year, and it promises to be most dynamic!

I LOVE how this lines up with the first harvest! Your practice of asking what to release now in order to receive later is incredible. I feel inspired to do the same! It feels like such a healthy response to the tendency to cling and allow for stagnation. Releasing creates spaciousness and new patterns of flow. This is wonderful, Victoria, thank you so much! 🤗💖

Love the new name Jenna! It feels so you 🥰

I feel like this pair is pointing me towards destroying any feeling of “shoulds” this week. My Lughnasadh reading was very about presence and enjoying the senses and following that fool’s sense of faith—essentially, turn off the overthinking brain that worries what I should be doing. With the end of the summer energy, I feel like I’m ready to just sink into being present and putting away any worry about trying to make things happen.

Thank you, Kerani! 💕 Oh my gosh, I love the idea of destroying the "shoulds"! That feels like...ahhhhhhhh...a big huge sigh of relief. I felt my shoulders soften just thinking about it. And along the same lines, destroying my need to control. You really helped me clarify what needs destroying in my life. Thank you!

Great timing for me, as I had help disassembling one piece of furniture yesterday and have another shabby old piece getting replaced at the end of the week. And furniture is just the tip of it.

I also like this pair with school starting soon and syllabi to write this week. The invitation is to make free with new methods. Education changed at every level in 2020. Many old systems no longer work. To the new!

Lastly, I notice the wands are all parallel to each other, which supports your reading of their unobstructed flow. Together, pointing the same direction, they look very powerful - like your new name. ❤️❤️

Tara, thank you SO much for your help in choosing this name. Your advice and guidance throughout the process was extraordinary! Some day I need to head up north and take you out for a lovely meal as a proper thank you. Until then, enjoy the infusion of creativity with the syllabi! 💖💖

Ooo, yes, let's eat well if you come up north. All the fun of travel with no jet lag! The name sits so well. I'm eager to see how you write under its influence. "Quiet Reading" changed how I thought about my posts, and I've been happy with that. A name change is a gift that keeps giving.

An infusion of spirit and your name change to Spirit Connections is just perfect! It’s like you’re receiving an infusion of spirit into your space here. And I love it, Jenna. Truly a lovely name change!

Now, time for me to think about what needs to be destroyed so I can receive the infusion that wants to come into my life. Thank you, as always! ❤️

Love the new name for your Substack! Congrats!

And I'm wondering about the Destroyer archetype along with the crumbling of all the patriarchal hierarchies around us. I have the sense that we're at a tipping point.

Wow - I wrote the above before I even read the part about the VIII of Wands where you write, "the eights are a huge turning point in the story of the tarot." ❤️🙏🕊️

Yes! I love this, Camilla! ❤️❤️❤️ I often forget to look at the greater collective when I write these posts. This is so perfect. We really are at a tipping point, a turning point. In my class over the weekend we had talked about that moment in human history when the focus went from connection to separation. I feel like we are now witnessing the beginning moments of the shift back again to connection. The Destroyer is a huge part of making that happen!

yes, that resonates with me too✨🌟💖🙏🕊️

and art - such as writing - is such a big part of brightening the connections between us.

I’m always so excited to read your archetype and the tarot content. The Destroyer made me think of the way a wildfire can destroy a forest but that the destruction is actually a good thing for the ecosystem. I’m about to go down the rabbit hole and see if I can find a tarot card that depicts the 8 of Wands in this way.
