The Genius and the Six of Pentacles explore the sacred exchange of wisdom—how inspiration flows when we give and receive in balance. Discover how to engage your Genius with generosity, nourish your own creative well, and trust in the endless reciprocity of ideas, support, and insight.
I love this Jenna! And my tarot card for the year is the Six of Pentacles. So how beautiful that this card came up here and with the Genius. I too see this card as reciprocity, especially as I am reading Braiding Sweetgrass! I see the balance between giving and receiving as being delicate. For too much in one direction creates depletion or too much in the other, hoarding. Either way the flow is blocked. I also loved all your suggestions, making the teaching of this card palpable and real. Like reading a piece of wisdom - as this post Jenna!
Oh, I love that the Six of Pentacles is your card for the year—what a beautiful one to be walking with, and how perfect that it’s weaving into your reading of Braiding Sweetgrass! That balance between giving and receiving really is so delicate, and I love how you framed it—when the flow is blocked in either direction, something essential is lost. I’m so glad the suggestions resonated, and I just adore getting to have these conversations with you. Thank you for bringing your wisdom into this space. 🤗💖
I know I’m resting Jenna, but I just had to come and share now spot on this is what what I have been receiving, like weirdly so! I’ll share more when I emerge, but this has been such a confirmation that I’m on the right track. Thank you so much!
Louise! 💖💖 Oh, I love that this landed so synchronistically for you—Spirit really does have a way of weaving things together. I’m so glad this was a confirmation for you, and I’ll be holding space as you continue resting. May it be the most nourishing rest of your experience!
“If we give our wisdom freely but do not allow ourselves to receive knowledge, inspiration, or rest, we risk depletion.”
Beautiful said, it reflect to me of those that decide they know it all and refuse to openly explore wisdom in a different way. Their depletion being they loss their wisdom and well as the ability to see the beauty all around.
MacFinnian, yes, exactly! There’s such a loss in closing ourselves off to receiving—wisdom stagnates when it isn’t in motion, and I love how you connected that to the ability to see beauty. It really is all intertwined, isn’t it? Thank you for sharing this reflection—it adds another layer to the conversation, and I so appreciate that. 💛💖
I absolutely love this post. What a brilliant reading of the 6 of Pentacles, as well as suggestions relating to how to engage with the Genius and the 6 of Pentacles. Thank you Jenna, I always learn so much from your posts 🙏🏼
That means so much, Phil, thank you! 🤗💖 The 6 of Pentacles has such a rich depth to it, and I loved exploring how it moves with the Genius. I’m so grateful that these posts are offering something meaningful to you. Always so glad to be in this ongoing conversation with you! 🙏🏼
Giving and receiving can both become so easily skewed, especially in a culture that sprang out of colonialism and slave labor and still runs on those legacies + consumer capitalism. I love the way in which the 6 of Pentacles and the Genius work together to balance self and other, give and take...knowing all the while that there is a drop of the yin in the yang of that and vice versa! This post gave such a lovely sense of permission to give freely from a place of genuine generosity, but with a reminder to temper that with intentionality and mindfulness. Thank you, Jenna. I have really loved this month of the Genius and I hope in giving it to us all, you have received a great deal as well.
Keith, I love how you put this—yes, the legacies we live within shape so much of how we experience giving and receiving, and it can be such a tangled thing to navigate. That yin-within-the-yang imagery is so perfect for the dance of the 6 of Pentacles and the Genius! I’m so glad this post offered a sense of permission and balance—it truly means so much to hear that. And oh, yes, I have absolutely received so much from this month of the Genius, not least of all through getting to explore it in community with folks like you. Thank you so much for being part of it! 💖🤗
I feel so grateful to be part of it! So glad I learned of your wonderful Substack from Julie Schmidt. It's been so consistently fortifying and I find myself mulling these concepts for much longer than it takes to read about them (like I've been waiting for them!). Thank you again 🙏💜
Oh yay! I LOVE that you and I “met” through Julie! She’s become one of my dearest friends. What a great universe Substack is, bringing us all together this way. ❤️

What’s everyone hate that we say “everything is connected” haha
Not only does it become stagnant, the ego becomes inflamed.
You’re welcome ☺️ it’s a beautiful conversation thank you 🙏 ✨💚
