What comes to mind is: Act like you're in love, trust like you're in love, let go like you're in love. Look into the eyes of your soul like you are in love and let the gentle smile play upon your lips whilst you have that rose tinted view of the world, which allows everything to come your way. It conjures up the image of two lovers entwined. No matter what chaos is occuring or what is dismantling around them they remain devoted to each other, with the notion that love conquers all.
Jenna, this pair and your interpretation are breathtaking. I resonate with Donna in her comment, and what kept coming to me in reading you was a breakthrough from (Gebserian here) deficient Mental into fullness of being in mutually enhancing relation, i.e., love as "an embrace" and at the same time, "willingness to let go." The top of the tower is blown off!
Might we see what is being asked to unfold across the collective as an act of love? i.e., Julie's comment: "The armor can come down, intimacy can be born."
Jenna what a great pairing! And thanks for the mention in your post! Yes there is something about love that can bring destruction. In the shadow it includes enabling, being possessive, attempting to mold the person into who they want them to be, stuck in the fairy tale endings, etc. All this brings a shake down of sorts. Dysfunctional behavior that eventually shows us what we don't want. Yet in the light, love is a beautiful acceptance of our idiosyncrasies and inner shadows where they can be met in the arms of true acceptance. The armor can come down, intimacy can be born. Jenna I love what you shared about love being both inclusive as an embrace and the willingness to let it go. It is a paradox, and in that anything unlike love will fall away like in the tower.
I feel like I say this every week but… this feels big! And I adore your interpretation of this too.
Love is one of those things that seems easier to describe what it’s not, than what it is. It’s intangible in a sense. So it’s almost as if The Tower is coming to strike away all that it is not, to reveal to us the true heart of what love is, and that can only be felt, not described.
I SO agree with this, Kerry! It DOES feel like it's easier to describe what love isn't than what it is. This really reminds me of that old story by David Foster Wallace that's something like: Two fish swimming along and happen to meet an older fish swimming the other way, who nods at them and says, “Morning, boys. How’s the water?” The two young fish swim on for a bit, and then eventually one of them looks over at the other and says, “What the hell is water?”
The general idea is that fish can't recognize water because they're not separate from it. I think it might be like that with us and love. It's the substance within which we exist.
I love the image you paint here of the Tower striking away all that love is not! ❤️ It's like the Tower comes along and changes the fish's perspective so that now they can see the water. Thank you so much for this insight! I love it!
Powerful cards today! Thank you Jenna, I did not know about yods and appreciated the lesson.
What I got from this reading is less personal and more about the direct state of the world. To me, love is the space between all things, it is Grace. Right now, the world as we know it is crumbling, which is why we see the last remnants of the old guard fighting for its life in all countries. There is a big shift happening which, at its core, is the hand of Love showing us a different way.
It is time to put our deepest trust in the goodness that is to come, no matter how dark it might first appear.
I resonate with your impression of this week's pair, Donna. It seems to arrive like a prescient dream, showing us "the hand of Love [as] a different way." What promise. . .
Love this Jenna ❤️ You've practically described my life 🙏🙏🙏 Being an early November child endowed me with the capacity to see below the surface of normal reality. So my reality is different to how it appears to those who don't always have the same depth of vision. That is why the Scorpio is represented by Death and The Tower in the major Arcana. Ruled by Pluto, there is also an overriding passion that Scorpio brings to any endeavour, including amorous ones. So The Tower and The Lovers comes to define my life. When Scorpio appears on the love scene, it's not uncommon for their person of interest to scamper for the hills, but rarely do they escape unscathed. Cherished illusions are often left in tatters. You can run, but you cannot hide from a Scorpio in Love. The cold shoulder is what I have become accustomed to receiving, and so I'm often cynical and sceptical about love. It seems so superficial to me, as do most people that I encounter. Unless they show me otherwise, I'm often left with the impression that people are not capable of true love, and that they are simply in love with the idea of love. I am The Tower, and I leave shattered illusions in my wake.
Thank you so much for sharing this, Elliot! (and my apologies for being a week behind in replying) Both my father and my husband are Scorpios. Interestingly, my father doesn't seem to have many of those traits, but you described my husband to a T. Loving a Scorpio is a particularly deep experience. Just as you said, none of the usual superficial or "romantic" notions of love come into play or seem to matter at all. It's all depth and shadows. But I've found that sticking it out means getting to a sort of root of love, where all surface trappings fall away. This single experience of love has transformed me like nothing else has. It has stretched me and held a mirror up to all the parts of me I would otherwise have turned away from. In short, at least for me, it's been worth enduring the Tower and I have no regrets. Thank you so much for bringing this up! I'm now thinking of this post very much in terms of my husband. Scorpio really is the essence of the Tower and the Lover combined.

Ah bless! You've been put through it and have come out the other side all the richer for the experience. Wonderful! Hats off to you, good lady! 🙏💜🙏
Amazing as always
Thank you, Erica! I'm getting caught up on Substack comments and replies this morning. I love that this is the first one I saw. 🤗💖
