Thank you Jenna and Hunter, this was amazing! The Intentional Elements brought to mind something I teach. If people are struggling to find what is most important to them, and what may be a guide, I encourage them to do two things. First look at your environment, what is surrounding you? Is your home littered with sporting equipment, books or musical instruments? Do you own the highest tech for gaming? Next, examine where you spend your money? Your money is your energy.

This may be a way of looking at Intentional Elements backwards.

As you said Hunter, once we are aware of our Elements it can be a guide for every decision. This frees up our mental energy, allowing us to stop wasting it on unimportant things or struggling so much to figure something out.

Jenna, thank you for honoring us with your morning ritual that is filled with grace and power. I could feel it and it is beautiful. I appreciate the sensory aspect to the entire process and it makes me realize I have no sensory rituals. I am going to work on this!

Thank you so much, Donna! ❤️ Your methods for looking at energy leaks and expenditures have been life savers for me. Looking at my environment is something I'm going to focus on now though. When I look around my immediate space here right now, it would appear that books and sacred altars are what's important to me. Lol.

Yay! Your physical life is in line with your values, that's awesome. When I look around my place there are a ton of books and other reading material on every surface and a lot of sporting equipment! Oh, and a dusty piano that speaks for itself (sadly), asking to be played!

Jenna -- I really enjoyed this guest post with Hunter. What a nice collaboration!

Hunter -- your example of how you consider your 'Intentional Elements,' encouraged me to think about how I live with intention and, what 'intention' means to me. The more I thought about how I've mothered, homeschooled and engaged in the art of housewifery (smile), the elements I consider are always based on 'value' and 'purpose.'

Whether I'm deciding to purchase something/engage in an activity/take on a responsibility, I ask myself, "Does it have value? Does it have purpose?" My husband and I were taught this process by an older man -- a craftsman -- when our son was only six-years-old. We were young parents, young homeowners and I had just survived breast cancer -- and his simple advice to always consider value and purpose provided us with a framework to keep moving forward and create the life we desire! I suppose my intentional elements are somewhat abstract, contextual concepts, but they've served us well.

Thank you ladies...for encouraging me to think about these things! ♡

I love this, Jessica! Does it have purpose and value? What a simple, but profoundly helpful, framework for making decisions. I could see using this for everything. Thank you! 🤗

I love these, Sarah! Creativity, Freedom, Simplicity and...maybe something about seeking or discovery (which is one of mine, so maybe I'm just stuck on that)? I'm thinking about your knowledge of Human Design and how, for me, that feels like a sort of detective work or uncovering layers of mystery. I'm just brainstorming here! Let me know if you come up with a fourth one. Although I think having 3 is just fine too! 🤗

Ooh I love that, great observation yes, when I’m looking at a client chart it really is like detective work, and I often use the word untangling for this kind of thing… when I knitted more I loved having a tangle of wool to figure out. Actually, finding order in chaos is another big theme in my chart… the first three are too in case you can’t guess 😂 and i always wondered why they showed up every time I revisited my values… it’d be so interesting to che k everyone’s chart against their values… 🤔

Thanks Jenna and Hunter for this collaboration! This is fantastic! Intentional elements! I also use the elements of air, fire, water and earth. Have them on my altar as well. I am going to take some time and come up with my own words for them, but I sense they will not be much different from yours, Jenna. I also related to your ritual. I am so intrigued by what others say and do. I too honor the elements and the directions, just not every morning. What I consistently do before dawn is burn dried sage that comes from the garden. Create a circle with it and welcome in the goddess and my ancestors. There is more to this, but for another time. Again really appreciate this today!

Side note, you had mentioned something about an email a bit ago? Just want to check in because I have not seen anything. I did not want you to think I had not responded.

Jenna's ritual is so beautiful, isn't it? I love that you utilize the elements in your practice as well!

Hi Julie! Thank you so much for sharing a bit of your morning ritual! I love that you grow your own sage. That's wonderful! Sitting with the Goddess and the ancestors reminds me of one of Camilla Sanderson's recent posts where she said her mom would "incubate with God" every morning. I just loved the feeling that conjured in me. Waking up and incubating with the divine. I'm guess that's what you do with the goddess and the ancestors. ❤️ And yes! Still planning to send you an email. I have a document I want to share with you, but I haven't finished reading it yet. I think it's something you'd be interested in (and then we could have much delightful discussion about 🤗) but I want to make sure it's not a waste of time first.

Yes that is what I am practicing. Being and communing with the goddess and my ancestors. With my ancestors it is like settling in, like sitting around a big fire. With the goddess it is kind of like incubating, it feels very in the womb, but it is also full body as well. More letting the aliveness of HER do and be me. It is quiet humbling and very powerful.

And I am looking forward to what you plan to share...

Those words came to me after reading your post...maybe they are, in and of themselves, a form of Intentional Elements for me to explore.

Jenna and Hunter, thank you.

I really enjoyed reading about Intentional Elements. This practice would be great to keep a person aligned and focused on what's most important to them.

It reminds me a lot of the Iron Pentacle and the Pearl Pentacle. You might like the book, "Walking in Beauty" by Phoenix LeFae. She teaches creating a personal pentacle based on our own values.

Working with the Elements is an important part of my practice. Thank you both for sharing!
